In October 1990, the Decatur High School (DHS) James H. Frasier Childcare Development Center had its grand opening. The center provided childcare to DHS teen parents, which had become an increasing occurrence in Decatur, and the United States as a whole. The program provided young parents not only free and reliable childcare but time during the school day to visit and learn about their children’s development. From its creation in 1990 to its current standing, the Frasier Center has undergone many changes, but at its heart, it is still all about the children. Full story in Carpe Diem.
