On April 30th, the Decatur High School (DHS) Student Government Association (SGA) will be hosting a Spring Festival.

The festival, the first of its kind at DHS, was created to highlight musicians and artists among the students and staff. “The Spring Festival is an opportunity for student and faculty musicians and artists to show off their work, as well as for local food vendors to sell their food, and for local businesses to contribute to the festival,” festival organizer, Emily Silver said.

While the festival is scheduled for Sunday at 1 pm on the DHS football field, it is forecasted to rain at that time. When asked about procedures for unexpected weather, Silver responded, “Booths, musicians and vendors would move to the cafeteria and the timing would work as planned.”

DHS SGA hopes that along with highlighting students, they can also restore a sense of community that they feel was previously lost.
