Decatur had its first hard/soft lock-in in two years on Friday, Nov. 2. Administrators advised first period teachers and students to close and lock classroom doors, turn off lights and sit in concealed corners or use desks to hide themself.

Spanish music echoed throughout the cafeteria on Oct. 26, 2018 as the Decatur Spanish department held the first Spanish Heritage Performances. The event featured Decatur musicians, actors and athletes as they came together to create shows honoring Latin American culture.

On Oct. 14-15, AFROPUNK celebrated its second year in Atlanta. Dubbed the “Carnival of Consciousness,” the event is a fusion of streetwear, culture and activism. Known for its multiculturalism and diversity, AFROPUNK’s lineup consisted of  musical acts like Solange, Willow Smith, Miguel and Denzel Curry. The event had over 43 performances spanning over two days.
