Girls soccer falls to Whitewater
May 5, 2018
For the second year in a row, the girls soccer team lost to Whitewater in the quarterfinals of the state playoffs. The Bulldogs fell in a much closer 2-1 loss on May 4, than the 6-1 loss in the 2017 season.
Sophomore Emma Rose scored two minutes into the game, but Whitewater quickly evened the score off of a corner. The Wildcats added a goal from another corner before half time, and the Bulldogs could not overcome the 2-1 halftime deficit, despite out-possessing Whitewater in both halves. The loss marked the end of high school soccer for a senior class of 10 girls that two semi finals and two quarter finals appearances in their time at Decatur.
