Reese Witherspoon’s new rom-com had some people wishing they were also home again … from the theatre. Although this movie would not be everyone’s first choice of movie, it was one of the first in its genre to ditch the typical boy-meets-girl plot.

Historic property sale sparks Decatur’s interest

In mid-January, the United Methodist Children Home's Board of Trustees voted to sell their Decatur property. Later, Mayor Patti Garrett announced the city's desire to buy the property. The sale marks the end of a 143-year-long legacy of the UMCH. Community members, including senior Happy Herold, have protested the sale.
