Jewish Student Union (JSU), Decatur's newest club, has its first meeting Sept. 4. The organization, created by seniors Halia Reingold and Sam Cooper, aims to provide a place where Jewish students can meet one another and openly talk about their struggles and non-Jewish students can learn about Judaism.

Many Decatur students have grown up participating in gymnastics, but since Decatur High School does not have a gymnastics team or club, many have struggled to find a suitable team. Robert Pope wanted to change that, so he approached the athletics department with his idea.

Students lead Decatur’s Fellowship of Christian Athletes

It’s 7:45 on a Thursday morning. Students and teachers pepper the building before its waking hours, scurrying to get a head start on the day. As Decatur warms up for another eight hours, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) energizes the bottom of the Performing Arts Center with their second meeting of the year.

Key Club assists janitorial staff in cafeteria cleanup

As the school’s student population and campus size grows, the DHS janitorial staff is having to cover a much larger space. As a result of these changes, the DHS Key Club was recently asked by the administration to assist the custodians in their maintenance of the cafeteria.
