Waffle House serves Valentine’s Day dinner

February 12, 2016

Feb. 14 is a day when couples can be seen on romantic walks and boxes of chocolate are flying off the shelves. Couples typically go out to a fancy romantic dinner and Waffle House isn’t usually on the list.

Waffle House promises in a press release to roll out white tablecloths, light truckloads of candles, and craft tailored menus. Couples are even able to sip champagne with cupid while eating Waffle House’s famous hash browns.

Waffle House is taking reservations for Sunday night at select locations in 18 states. Georgia has 27 participating locations, the highest number of all the states.

Georgia’s participating restaurants do not include the Decatur and Avondale locations.

Emily Seats-Jordan is a regular customer at the Avondale Waffle House. She is on the Decatur Girls Basketball team and likes the fast service on game nights.

“I like Waffle House because I love breakfast food, and Waffle House is quick, cheap, and good,” she said.  “I go to Waffle House maybe once a week. I usually go before or after a game.”

“I thought the waffle house in Avondale would have a candle-lit dinner thing on Valentine’s [day] because I planned on going,”  Seats-Jordan said.

Although the candle-lit dinners will bring a romantic dinner to couples and friends, Seats-Jordan’s Valentine’s Day plans are foiled.

“I don’t know what to do on Valentine’s day any anymore.” Seats-Jordan said.
