As the holiday season approaches, Decatur has many exciting events to attend. The Decatur community never fails to produce festive occasions that pique the interest of all ages and audiences. Below is a brief list of events coming up in the upcoming month.
Santa on the Square
On Saturday Nov. 25th, Santa will be at the square! All are welcome to visit, talk, and take pictures with Mr. Clause. It’s the perfect opportunity to bring little ones to enjoy the holiday spirit.
Decatur Tree Lighting
On Thursday, Dec. 7th, the Decatur holiday tree will be lit up to celebrate the holiday season. Carolers will be singing tunes with hot cocoa provided at the festivities.
Decatur Menorah Lighting
On Sunday, Dec. 10th, the community of Decatur will gather in the square to celebrate the start of Chanuka. Food and drinks will be provided along with Mr. Dreidle, who will be posing for pictures.
Decatur Bonfire and Marshmallow Roast
On Thursday, Dec. 14, a cozy bonfire will be held in Decatur Square, inviting all to join. Marshmallows will be provided to roast in the fire, which is kept under control by the Decatur Fire Department.
