Decatur’s girls soccer team moved on to the state quarterfinal round after their Round of 16 victory on Tuesday, May 1. They defeated Buford 5-1.
Each class got on the board for the Lady Bulldogs, as freshman forward Carmen Hardwick led the team with a brace, and sophomore Emma Rose, junior Maggie Carlton and senior Molly Enloe also scored, powering the girls to their second blowout win of the playoffs. Decatur previously defeated Buford by a score of 7-2 in February.
The team now faces a tough quarterfinal opponent in Whitewater High School, which ranks similarly to DHS statewide and nationally on MaxPreps.com. The two will play at 6 pm on Friday at Decatur Stadium.
