  • Find a teacher to form a strong bond with – they’ll make your high school career much easier.
  • Be respectful to Decatur faculty and staff.
  • Take your academic life as seriously as you take your social and extracurricular life.
  • Get help early in the year if you need it. Don’t wait until the last minute.
  • There are so many clubs – try out everything that interests you freshman year, and then decide what you want to pursue.
  • Check your first class email. Everyday. There will be something. Every. Day.
  • Support Bulldogs sports and arts.
  • Become friends with Ms. Riley.
  • Do not be tardy. You want Mr. Anderson on your side.
  • Find an upperclassmen to be friends with. They’ll make your journey much easier.

We hope you take these tips into consideration and we wish you the best of luck in your freshman endeavors.
