Decatur students protest for 100% renewable energy

On Jan. 23, 2020, Decatur High School students led a climate protest for Decatur to switch to 100% renewable energy. The students met at the Decatur Square and marched to the 2020 Decatur Strategic Planning Meeting to advocate for Decatur to rely on 100% renewable energy.

The students left at 12:45 on Friday, September 20th, the last school day before September break. The strike happened worldwide, with 2,500 events planned in 160+ countries, organizers said. Students left school to protest what they see as world leader's inadequate response to climate change.
