No (Sam Levy)

The Crimson Tide was good this year – dominating almost every game during the season – but are not even close to being the best team ever. That award goes to the 1995 Nebraska Cornhuskers. Nebraska went undefeated, and outscored their opponents 53-13 on average. Every game was won in dominating fashion. They won the national championship, against second-ranked Florida, by 38 points. No other team possessed that level of dominance or left that impressive of a legacy.

Yes (Wilson Witherspoon)

Best coach. Best conference. Best team in history. It’s as easy as that. No program has competed in a more demanding conference than those in the modern-day SEC, owner of the past seven BCS titles. Few coaches have accomplished what Nick Saban has, and none in the BCS era. And, with the top-ranked 2013 recruiting class, the best may still be to come. Alabama has the perfect combination of prestige, a tried and true system, and a bright future that, when combined, resemble a team far and above any other historical college football powerhouse.
