Song of the week: Fake Love

Somer Benton

Somehow Drake always finds a way to make songs relatable. Snapchat videos of emotion-filled teens drown the internet screaming, “And that’s when they smile in my face, whole time they wanna take my place,” arguably the most notable line of the song. “Fake Love” proves Drake can connect with millions, including myself. Don’t be surprised if you catch me at a red light spilling my feelings to this upbeat ballad. The song starts off with a simple melody that cues me to turn the volume all the way up. As the song continues, my mind recalls the moment in ninth grade when my best friend became my enemy. A deep message with a buoyant tune. Exactly what I need driving down I-20.
