Song of the week: Late July

I was driving home from work the first time Alejandro Rose-Garcia sang to me.  It was one of those times where a song blurs the world and demands your attention, where you’re by yourself and can’t help but smile at the radio like you’re in love.  Sounds weird, right?  Falling in love with a song.  The twangy guitar and tamborine dance together for the first minute before the Texan even starts to sing, but when he does the world just stops.  It’s my go-to driving song now and no matter how I’m feeling, I can’t help but stick my hand out the window and join Rose-Garcia over and over.
