Alternative artist releases long-awaited single
After three years of anticipation, fans of alternative artist Andrew Belle were treated to some new music.
Belle’s new single, “Dive Deep,” is the first track off of his upcoming album. Belle’s first album, The Ladder and his second LP, Black Bear were released in 2010 and 2013, respectively.
Belle historically takes years to put out new music, but that doesn’t mean he’s not motivated.
“I’m pretty slow when I create music so I’ve been working on it on and off for about two years now,” he said. “I [took] my time with it and [shaped] it slowly.
“Dive Deep” was expected to be released last Friday, but online publication Earmilk was given permission to release it a day early on Soundcloud. They dubbed the single “cathartic.”
Belle garnered several fans from the use of his music on popular teen shows “Pretty Little Liars,” “Greek” and “The Vampire Diaries.” His song “In My Veins” was the background track to the long-awaited hookup of characters Castle and Beckett on ABC drama “Castle.” Go to any Andrew Belle show, and it’s the one song that all of his fans know the words to.
Belle is known for giving listeners an intimate portrayal of his life, and “Dive Deep” is no different.
Along with a deeper dive into his personal life, Belle attempts to illuminate life lessons in his songwriting.
“Being vulnerable with another person is a difficult, uncomfortable process to work through but over the years I’ve found that there is almost nothing quite as fulfilling as when you’re able to say to someone, ‘Here I am. This is my heart – Dive Deep.’”
