Atlanta Botanical Gardens to open new exhibit
April 1, 2016
With Spring coming in full force with pollen allergies and rainy days, the Atlanta Botanical Gardens have decided to celebrate springtime with bright flowers from April to October with new installations.
At the end of April, the Botanical Gardens will display artist Dale Chihuly’s newest installations, as fresh springtime art compared to his previous show with the gardens that premiered in 2004.
Chihuly is a sculptor that focuses primarily on glass works and glass sculptures, and has had his works displayed in various places such as the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, the Seattle Center, and the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts.
Chihuly in the Garden will display 21 installations to emphasize the beauty of the gardens with his glass sculptures.
The new exhibit can be viewed either after 6 pm, for Chihuly Nights, or during regular daytime admission. During Chihuly Nights, visitors are promised beautifully lit sculptures among fragrant flowers.
According to the Botanical Gardens website, “the kaleidoscopic colors of the art for which the artist has become so famous may also be experienced in a different light- at night.”
Chihuly Nights will be on evenings Wednesday through Sunday.
